The AFRL NM Tech Engagement Office (TEO) contracted with Ingenuity Software Labs (ingenuitysoftwarelabs.com) to build a high power laser simulation with the aim of educating the public and getting them interested in laser research.
Click here to try the Laser Simulation.
In the simulation, users interact with the different parts of a laser system to build and configure a laser, fire it at targets, and get a report of the results and effect on the target. This simulation provides a hands-on tool that allows the user to gain an appreciation for key, real-world features that affect the performance and design of a high power laser system.
