How does the STEM Demo Library work?
This webpage contains our entire library of STEM demos! We have placed them into 2 general categories based on their presentation style. To check out a demo from the library, you can fill out the Contact Form and we will follow through with you to discuss your event and any demos you may be interested in. You will then be invited to visit us at the AFRL NM STEM Academy to gather any demos you will be checking out, discuss additional equipment needs, and to officially complete the check out process. After checking anything out, you will receive an email that summarizes what you have borrowed, as well as linking you to resources that may help at you event (including photos, tutorial videos, and presentation guides).
What's the difference between a demonstration and a hands-on activity?
Demonstrations are typically operated by the STEM professional, and can be done in front of a classroom or small crowd. One example is the Van de Graaf Generator, which allows for some audience participation but must be operated by a trained adult at all times.
Hands-on activities allow participants to directly interact and can be done individually or in small groups, often in a classroom setting, with some guidance from the STEM professional. One example is the Ozobots, which can be operated directly by K-12 students.
What if I'm not sure what demos I'm interested in?
