ASCM Program

Information collected through satellite sensors had to be processed and transmitted. Consequently, Phillips Lab developed important building blocks in the 1990s for advanced on-board computer processing technology for space missions using standardized, radiation-hardened electronics and microelectronics. The Lab's Advanced Spaceborne Computer Module (ASCM) program provided two industrial sources for spaceborne computer and microelectronic components that met spacecraft system needs having a high "throughput" and low cost solution.
